Ad policy

Every ad is reviewed by a person before it runs, and every ad is labelled Sponsored. Our readers trust these sites for straight answers; ads have to keep that trust.

We accept

Ads for real products and services that a reader of the site would find relevant: tools, supplies, software, courses, shops, studios, local services.

We don't accept

• Gambling, betting and casinos
• Adult content, dating and escort services
• Weapons, ammunition and weapon accessories
• Tobacco, vaping, cannabis and CBD
• Prescription drugs, supplements with health claims, weight-loss products
• Payday loans, crypto signals and presales, forex signals, "get rich" schemes
• Anything promising guaranteed income, returns or results
• Counterfeits, replicas, hacked accounts, bought followers
• Political and issue ads
• Ads that imitate our articles, our tools or a system message

The rules for every ad

• The headline and text must be accurate, and the landing page must match the ad.
• No health, medical or financial claims.
• Links must use https:// and work.
• Images: your own or licensed, no flashing or animation.

Review, refunds and reporting

We review paid ads, usually within a day. If we don't approve an ad, we refund it in full. Your ad runs for the weeks you bought from the day it's approved. We report real impressions and clicks; we don't promise a number of either. We can stop an ad that breaks this policy after it starts; you'll be refunded for the unused weeks unless the ad misled readers.
